The oxygen that you inhale or breathe in is mixed with the blood in your lungs. Now if you take it down to the tissue level……your lung s have an interconnected branch of passages..Called the tracheobronchial tree. The end point of this branch is a sac called an alveolus. This alveolus is surrounded by blood vessels which carry the oxygen carrier haemoglobin.

Now at the this level of the alveolus the oxygen you inhaled diffuses through the wall of the alveolus and is grabbed by the haemoglobin in your blood… thus completing the transfer of oxygen into your blood.

Hope you got it.
