The problem face d by him was that which road or path he should choose. This problem is faced by one ever once in one's life as here the road doesn't exactly mean a path or way, here it refers to the decision which the poet have to make. He see it as a problem as if he goes on one path and find it wrong then he can't come back where he started. It is a problem which everyone have to face and more often one road leads to other sooner or later.
