digestion starts from the buccal cavity itself where the saliva acts on the food.

food goes first into the small intestine where bile, pancreatic and intestinal juices are secreted. These enzyme are activated by active tripsin which was in turn activated by enterokinase. Here digestion of fats, carbohydrates and fats takes place.

later food enters the caecum of the large intestine where only absorption of water and certain minerals takes place.
