Alluvial soil in India is mainly found in northern plains. These Alluvial soil is being deposited every year By The Rivers like Ganga Brahmaputra and Indus. These rivers erodes the mountain of Himalayas and deposit them in the Northern Plains.

Alluvial soil is found in the Northern Plains, delta and coastal regions. It is very fertile and regarded as the best soil for agriculture and gardening. It is formed by the deposition of silt and sand mainly on river banks.
