China is a nation in East Asia which has a landscape with a variety of terrain. It has grasslands, mountains, deserts, lakes and rivers. It also as a coastline which is longer than 13,000 KM. It has cities like its capital Beijing and Shanghai, which mix modern architecture with the culture of Mainland China. Its world-famous monuments are The Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Terracotta Army etc. China has a vast variety of soil because of its diverse climatic conditions. It has all the types of soil found in the Eurasian continent except the soil found in the Tundra region and the highly leached podzolic-gley soils, which is found in the Northern Taiga. The name China come from the Sanskrit Cina derived from the name of the Chinese Qin Dynasty which was translated as 'cin' by the Persians and popularized through trade from along the Silk Road from China to around the world.
