'g' is greater at pole than at equator because the distance variations from Earth's core

because earth is almost like the shape of orange

and we know that greater the distance less will be the g force

Find below the solution to the asked query :-

G at the location of the pole is about 9.83 N/kg.

However, on the equator, its about 9.78 N/kg.

So, g is greater at the location of the pole.

The weight of the body = mg

Here m and g both are constant since when R(radius of Earth) is increased then the value of g is decreased.

Finally, g is inversely proportional to the radius of Earth.

g = \frac{MG}{R^2}

Remember: There would be no gravitational field at the center of Earth. Since at this point, mass distribution is uniform.

Hope this would clear your doubt.
