I don't know anything about zen. But you can read or watch(youtube) these pathbreaking fellows:

Sadhguru(Isha Foundation)
Vijay Ratnasundar Surishwarji Marasa
While buddha gave dogmas and commandments these contemporary sanyasis have philosophies that are ture today.
