The sphincter of Boyden is located in the bile duct proximal to the hepatopancreatic ampulla and it is divided into the inferior and superior sphincter, this controls the flow of the bile from the liver to the duodenum.

Bile is an important digestive enzyme that is produced by the ‘liver’ which helps in the digestion of lipids. This bile flows from the liver to the small intestine to enable fat digestion.
