Actually welcome to the concept of the RIGID BODIES ..
Basically In a discrete mass system ... when all the particles are in circular motion about a centre ..then it is termed as
the Central Axis of rotation would be passing through the CENTRE OF MASSNOF THE BODY PERPENDICULARLY ALONG IT ....

But answer is that it is situated out side the body. According to me which is not possible because body is rigid, so it may be at the centre of the body
yes I m saying that only
it's the centre of mass
but there are casses like the ring and hollow cylinder and half ring !!
which have the axis of rotation out side the body
But in the question structure of body is not defined. So how we decide that it is a hollow structure
see the only option remains ... the body it'self rotates and is in revolution
then only it is possible to have the axis OF rotation outside
