When matter and antimatter annihilate, they produce mostly photons.But photons are ephemeral km am expanding universe. As the universe stretches, so to does a photons wavelength,reducing energy carried by it. This missing energy doesn't go anywhere. It's simply lost forever, because there's no global conservation of energy in expanding universe.
