⏪The pressure due to water in a dam is higher at its BASE. This is because the pressure exerted by a fluid Increases with increasing depth .

⏪So the base of a dam is made broad so that it can withstand the increased pressure of the water .

the pressure is higher at the base,as the pressure increases with the depth of the liquid.
