Soon after the independence of India, there was an integration of the princely states and the Rajasthan High Court came to be established. With the commencement of the 'constitution of India', Rajasthan was made was of B class state.  

After the merger of Ajmer Merwara in Rajasthan in the year 1956, due to passing of the 'States Re-organisation Act', there came to be established the 'High Court of Judicature for Rajasthan' at Jodhpur, having a Bench at Jaipur, which was later on abolished and there was a unified High Court at Jodhpur.
