On the left side, the resistors are in series i.e. the resistance will be added

6Ω + 2Ω = 8Ω

this series with resistance 8Ω will be then parallel to the middle resistance

hence  we get resistance of 4Ω and the last resistance series is in series hence we get 16Ωnow this 16Ω resistor and 4Ω resistor is in parallel hence by the formula used for parallel serie

i.e R1 X R2 /R1 +R2

16 x 4 /16+4

= 4.8
