The object has to be placed at the centre of curvature of the converging mirror in order to get an image of the same size as that of the object.

When an object is placed at the centre of curvature of the concave mirror , the image characteristics are as follows :

  • Image is real.

  • Image is of same size as that of the object.

  • Image is inverted.

  • Magnification is -1.

Things to note while drawing the ray diagram:

  • Parallel ray from object after reflection passes through the focus of the mirror.

  • Light ray passing through the centre of curvature traces its path back after reflection.
