Garbage should never be thrown down a drain! If it is a household drain it could clog it up (or perhaps a garbage disposal would grind it?) and if it is an outdoor drain it will pollute wherever the drain leads to. Public garbage bins are normally emptied at a land fill which may not be all that much better. We need to reduce the amount of garbage we produce and if it is food waste much can be best used as compost. What can’t be composted should be disposed of properly depending on what it is.
