Answer:

• Brahmaputra river is mainly located in the state of Assam in India, but it crosses through not only different states in India but also in different countries.

Explanation:

• The river Brahmaputra originates in the glaciers of Tibet. Here it is called as river Tsangpo. It flows parallel to Himalayas for sometime and then takes a U turn from the Himalayan mountain named Namcha Barua and enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.

• Here, it is joined by it's two tributaries named Dihang and Dibang ( also called Lohit). After that it is called as Brahmaputra.

• It enters Assam and is joined by many other tributaries.

• Near Dhubri district of Assam it enters Bangladesh, where it is joined by the river Tista and forms the river Jamuna.

• It again joins the river Padma ( called as Ganga in India) and both this river forms Meghna which finally drains in the Bay of Bengal.

• So, if the total length of the river is considered then it majorly is located in Tibet. But if the course of the river in India is considered then it majorly flows in Assam.
