The poet Rabindranath Tagore is talking about the narrow domestic walls which may be formed due to the religious and social practices performed in the various castes and creeds which might break us into fragments and harm us effectively and emotionally.

In the poem "Where the mind is without fear " the poet is talking about the narrow domestic wall. It refers to narrow local divisions created by prejudices like caste, colour, creed, religion, redion. They are called 'narrow' by he poet because they are based on ageold customs and traditions and not on the basis of rational thinking.
