Dr. Abdul Kalam’s familial house was quite old and it was constructed in the 19th century. It was a pucca (solid and permanent) house that was made of limestone and bricks. It is situated on Mosque Street in the beautiful town of Rameswaram and is a fascinating place to visit.
Presently, his residence was transformed into a beautiful museum which has his childhood memories. The place is perfect to get a sight into the amazing life of this humble, modest person, right from his childhood till his research days.
Many awards and pictures of Dr. Abdul Kalam are kept on exhibition in this 2-story building that is preserved by his older brother. Furthermore, a part of the house was turned into a store which sells a range of merchandise.
