Mahavira was born in Bihar of India, which was known as Kundagrama previously. It is believed that he was born at 540 BCE belonging to a Jain , royal Kshatriya family.

When he was 30 years old he left his home in search of spiritual wellbeing to become an ascetic.

He was born in the kingdom of kunpur which belonged to Videhas. He died at Pavapuri and was the earnest follower of the religion Jainism.
