In the west Sapekhati, in south Arunachal Pradesh, in north are parts of Dibrugarh district including Namrup, Assam. There is a small railway station named Borhat(BFD) which is in the central place of the region. During Ahom rule, Borhat was famous as a place for finding mineral salt.

Answer:

The places where salt is produced in Assam are :

  • The west of Saphekhati
  • The south of Arunachal Pradesh
  • To the north of Assam , the areas are Dibrugarh & Namrup, Assam.
  • Borhat is the longest ever known for salt mining , it has a railway station that is common for the transport of final products.

This is because it is located on the central part of Assam .
