Shifting Agriculture is a type of agriculture in which a patch of land is cultivated for 2 to 3 years and then the patch is burnt.
The farmer along with his family moves to a new place.

This method is a faulty method of agriculture.
It leads to soil erosion.


This method is also known as slash and burn method in Africa and it is known as Jhumming or Jhum in India.
