mala..because lungs is in respiratory system

rdgh123: both are wrong
rdgh123: the process of releasing energy from food is called respiration. the process of respiration which releases energy takes place inside the cell of the body. mitochondria in the cell are the sites of respiration. the energy released is used in the synthesis of ATP molecules. hence mitochondria are also known as powerhouse of the cell.
rdgh123: both Mala and Jiya wrote wrong. because not only in lungs and muscles but also in each and every cell of the body respiration takes place which release energy which is very very essential to carry out all life processes which are necessary to keep out organisms alive.

Answer:

Answer : Jiya is correct because, in the lungs, the gaseous exchange takes place. From the lungs, oxygen is transported to the muscle cells. In the muscle cells, glucose is oxidized to release energy in the form of ATP.
