Yes, assimilation is a Life process because in the process digested food's nutrients, glucose and vitamins are absorbed. The nutrients, vitamins and glucose absorbed by the cells is used to produce energy, to grow and to repair old tissues. Without absorbing these, the living organism can't get energy and can't survive, thus, assimilation is a Life Process.
