According to the laws of genetics, no parent and its progeny will be exactly similar. Irrespective of the method of conception, there will be a genetic difference between both generations.
For primitive organisms without a well-defined nucleus, it is easy for the genetic material to get lost in transition. However, for multicellular asexual organisms, the progeny will be as similar as possible, although there might be small variations. However, for other multicellular organisms, the genetic makeup will be diverse since the genes come from two different parents.
