Cells in the body are designed in such a way that they multiply to a certain extent and stop. That is why we have carefully calculated length of fingers, toes and so on. This is controlled by what is called a cell cycle determined by many factors. Such factors are broadly divided into 2 categories- one that enhance multiplication and the other that inhibit.
