The end of Mughal Rule in India, it had not happened all of a sudden but gradually after the death of Aurangazeb.

Soon after the death of Aurangazeb, Bahadur Shah Zafar took over the throne and many Mughal officials and admistrators started ruling small regions of the Mughal Empire. Due to contractions between British laws and Mughal Empire they started supporting the 1857 revolt, the Sepoy Mutiny which ended by giving victory to British.  

British captured Badshah who took refuge at the Humayun’s tomb along with his sons and grand sons. Later the day Major Wlliam Hodson shot the sons and grand son of Badshah beofr his eys in order to clear the empire’s legal hires. Later Bahadur Shah Zafar was sent to rangoon and kept as a locked in prisoner till his death.

The Mughal rule in India came to an end after the death of Bahadur Shaha Zafar.
