Among the following which would be named as dibromidobis (ethylene diamine) chromium (III) bromide is ;

• Central metal atom is Chromium

• Ions donating electrons to it are Br- and en( ethylene diamine )

• Counter atom is also bromide ion.

• Oxidation no. of bromide ion = -1 and of ethylene diamine = 0

• For getting oxidation no. of Cr as +3, compound should have 3 bromide ion.

• Therefore option C is eliminated.

• In naming of compound, it is already given that two bromide ion and two ethylene diamine are present in square bracket.

• Hence only one bromide ion is present as counter atom.

Correct option : (b) [Cr(en)₂Br₂]Br
