hedgehog are famous for their prickly spines, which they have everywhere except on their face, legs and bellies. these cute critters depend on their spines for defence, both while they sleep and when they face enemies.

Porcupines has spines on its body. Hedgehogs also had spines on its body.

They both use there spines for protecting themselves from their predators.
