Mycoplasma infections are normally treated using antibiotics. But since mycoplasmas do not have cell walls, they are naturally resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics (these are antibiotics which have a beta-lactam ring in their molecular structure) such as penicillin, penicillin derivatives, cephalosporins, monobactams and carbapenems.
