The frog asserted his importance by blowing his own trumpet. He introduced himself
as the owner of the sumac tree the nightinnglae was sitting on; he further told her that he had
been the famous singer of the bog who was known for his baritone. He also told
her that he also composed Bog Trumpets regularly. The inexperienced nightingale
easily got impressed with the frog. She did not know that the cunning frog was
going to exploit her and be the cause of her downfall and death.
