The major physiographic divisions of India are the following -

The Himalayan Mountains in north,

the Northern Plains of major rivers’ basins,

the Peninsular Plateau,

the Coastal Plains,

the Indian Desert of Thor and the Islands.

There are four parallel ranges of Himalaya i.e. Shiwalik, Himadri, Himachal and Tibetan Himalaya.
