Ambala is located on this water divide. The Western Ghats form the main water divide in Peninsular India.

2. Vindhyan range separates the Ganga drainage basin and Narmada drainage basin.
3. Himalaya separates the river flowing in Himalayan system from the rivers flowing in trans Himalayan range.
