Mollisols are most productive soils in world. They are found in middle latitude and more extensive in Prairie regions.

In world there are 12 types of soils available. Among them Mollisols is considered as highly productive because it is enriched with organic materials that are added to it by the plant root for long period of time. They are unique by thick, dark surface horizon.  

Due to high organic content, they are considered as most productive soil of the world. In India, alluvial soil is considered as the most productive soil and it is found in Tamilnadu, MP, Odhisa and few parts of Karnataka.
