The provision of health services to Indians faces many problems. Some of the major problems include
- Neglecting the rural masses. Most of the hospitals are situated in the urban areas making it hard for those in the village to access medical services.
- The emphasis of the cultural treatment-The health sector of India largely depends on imported technology that has no root in the culture of the Indians. Its establishment has led to urban hospitals which makes it hard to provide primary medical care. Essentially people emphasize the use of cultural ways.
- Inadequate capital- the GDP contribution by the government is just 0.9% which is not sufficient to provide the required medical services

1. The level of education in India is lower than the developed countries. Less educated people delay the treatment
2. Proper development of infrastructure in the medical area has not been achieved. Only a small fraction of the gross domestic product is spent on medicine.
3. Most of the population of India lives in villages where there is lack of infrastructure. There has not been much effort on behalf of the government.
