The North East trade winds blow from the mid - latitudinal high pressure belt , also known as the Subtropical High Pressure belt , to the Equitorial low pressure belt which is known as the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone ( ITCZ ) because the North East trade winds and the South East trade winds converge in this zone.
