Stoves are generally used for cooking and heating purposesI really love to cook side dishes. The entree is usually the star of the meal and the sides, especially in restaurants or at banquets, are boring. I’ve had too many plates served with steamed vegetables and no seasoning.
I love to take veggies and give them real flavor. It doesn’t have to be complicated, it just needs to be good!
Simply tossing most vegetables with some butter and olive oil and a great blend of seasoning and then roasting them in the oven is wonderful! Roasting halves of new potatoes with minced garlic, coconut oil, lemon juice, a little honey and salt & pepper is easy and yummy.
It’s also fun to make wonderful sauces that can go with the sides and the entree. Asian sauces or traditional cream sauces can be played with, adding fresh herbs, maybe chopped dried fruit or fresh fruit juices.
I want people to enjoy the side dishes at least as much as the entree. And, if I happen to be serving vegetarians, they can still have a wonderful meal.
