There may be different ways for describing location. Suppose I'll tell you that my home is 100 m away to the left of St. Albert School, opposite of a Maple tree.
You will be able to reach my home only if you are aware of the locality or you have to find St. Albert School first. (Ask someone) This is an example of relative location. Where a location is described relative to other known location.
While latitude and longitudes are imaginary lines on earth. Each point on earth can be represented by unique set of latitude and longitude. Suppose my home lies at the intersection of 21° North latitude and 60° E longitude. Then, 21°N, 60°E is my absolute location. And it is universally understood and accurate too.
Hope it helps.. Thank you
