Some diseases are air-borne and the germs spread via air.
Some are vector borne diseases like insect pest. Eg. Malaria is transmitted by mosquitoes. Dengue, etc.
Some are passed by infected blood transfusion and they cause AIDS., etc.

There are five major medium through which the disease spread. They are,
- Air is present everywhere and the disease causing organism maybe suspended in air and infects a healthy person.
- Direct contact or indirect contact with the infected person can transmit the disease.
- Through the objects of the infected person.
