Which area of the mountain are used by the gujjars and bakarwals? Why do they choose to live in those areas

The gujjars and bakarwals live in the Montane forests in the southern slopes of Himalayas as they are great herders of sheep so the dry and scrub forest provide good grazing grounds for their herding.
