Commenting about Article 32, Dr. B R Ambedkar said in the Constituent Assembly—

“If I was asked to name any particular article of the Constitution as the most important—an article without which this Constitution would be a nullity—I would not refer to any other article except this one. It is the very soul of the Constitution and the very heart of it.”

While philosophically speaking, having to pick the single most important article of the Constitution, Article 32 surely is unrivalled in importance. Such is its significance that it has been included as part of the “basic structure of the Constitution”. Hence, it cannot be taken away or abridged even by a Constitutional amendment.
