Answer:

Renal artery

Explanation:

The renal artery carries blood to the kidney in order for it to be filtered.

The renal artery then branches into tiny arterioles that travel to the cortex.

The renal capsule is the outer membrane-type structure surrounding the kidney.

The renal cortex is the layer that separates the medulla and the cortex. The medulla is made up of many renal pyramids. The renal pyramids are supplied with many loops of Henle (we discuss this later on) that stretch to make, what looks like, long stripe-like tubes running downward.

The medulla is richly supplied with blood vessels that can supply the kidney with blood that needs to be filtered.

The papillae are where a renal pyramid will narrow and form the calyxes.

The calyxes are where the wasteful substances are gathered. It is a tube that leads the urine to the renal pelvis.

The renal pelvis is where a collection of urine from the overall medulla is collected.

From there, the urine travels through the ureter to the bladder to be excreted.

The renal vein gathers up the filtered blood and sends it away from the kidney.
