The asanas include Padangusthasana, Dhanurasana etc.

  • Yoga is a mind-body exercise. It naturally incorporates physical postures, breathing exercises, and mindful meditation or relaxing into various specific forms.
  • However, if a person suffers from cervical spondylosis they should avoid few asanas such as -
  1. Dhanurasana - The body is fashioned like a bow by raising legs and ankles while lying on stomach. The neck is stretched when the arms are extended rearward to support the ankles. As a result, people who suffer from neck pain should avoid this position.
  2. Padangusthasana - The person touches toes without bending knees. While the posture appears to emphasize toes, it demands to hang head loosely to feet. As a result, the weight of body is pulled to neck, putting undue strain on it.
