In Guillain-Barre syndrome, the body’s immune system attacks the nerves resulting in paralysis of the whole body.

 

The assessment is based on Lumbar Puncture. Also known as Spinal Tap, a little quantity of fluid is extracted from the lower back and tested for change that is found in people with this syndrome.

 

The nerve activity and condition are measured and studied using Electromyography or using electrodes.

 

The exact cause for this condition is unknown and there is no known cure, through several treatments are prescribed.
