We all know that India is a land of rich culture and history. The ancient war tales and stories related to our Hindu Gods and Goddesses have also piqued the interest of people from all parts of the world. In short Bharat also homes some of the great mythological secrets which never fade away with time ...
Its fantastic to see some young Indian authors taking up mythology and Indian history as a basis to write their books.
* Ashok Kumar Banker :-
He was born in Mumbai on 7th Feb 1964. He can retell Indian mythological epics with a bit of western touch in them . The New York times even appreciated his efforts and praised him for his English translation of the 8-volumes epic Ramayana and also the 18volume Mahabharata series.Some of his notable works include :- Ten kings, Prince of Ayodhya ,Slayer of Kamsa, Devi series (about the various avtars of the goddess),Gods of War. He also took part in writing the script of serials like -Chakravartin Ashok Samrat etc.
He is in par with the other writers that follow him .
* Amish Tripathy :- There you have the young man with a nice smile on his face ! None other than Mumbai boy Amish who is credited for his Shiva trilogy series and the Ramchandra series too !! His books are no less than an epic saga ;they seem as real as the Ramayana and Mahabharata ! No wonder ,this man has got great ideas blooming in his heads. The Forbes list puts him in the top 100! He is a devoted worshipper of lord Shiva who used to regularly pay visits to the Shri Mahadev Mandir and also encourages his fans to do the same! His own grandfather was a scholar and Benarasi Pundit affluent in Sanskrit . We must not miss reading his books atleast once in a lifetime ,for they also teach us many morals and lessons which we must value and emulate in our own lives ....
*Ashwin Sanghi :- People often compare him with Dan Brown but its absolutely incorrect to do so ! He's a mythological fiction writer who can weave magical tales from his mind ! He does a lot of research work and delves deeper into understanding mythology and the surroundings in a different perspective . His books are- Chanakya's chant , the Krishna key , Rozabel line , keepers of the kalchakra (which released on 26jan ! Just a day after his birthday !!) These books have compelled us to open up our minds to the amazing connections he makes which are , relevant enough in our real lives ! Indeed his books are special and is bound to be a page -turner too !!!
*Devdutt Pattnaik :- He is a mythological writer who has successfully brought out the essence of mythology as a means to spread ideas, values and inspire an ideal wat of life. He mostly reveals secrets hidden in our ancient Hindu scriptures and presents them in an interesting way in his books..From his first book (Shiva:an introduction ) to Mithya:a handbook of Hindu mythology , Shiva to Shankara, Sita, Ramayana , Mahabharata , my gita, devkok, jaya,7 secrets of Vishnu etc, he has indeed come a long way. He also clears the confusion between myth and mythology and has unique thoughts too ! He is apparently the story consultant who has contributed towards the making of serials like - siya k ram , Devo k dev mahadev etc.
There are other authors such as Anand neelakantan (Ajaya:rise of kali, Asura : tale of the vanquished ,rise of sivgami ) and Kavita Kane ( karna's wife : the outcast queen ) etc ...
