Which bacteria fixes nitrogen in the soil?

There are quite a few bacterias who have nitrogen fixing ability, some of which are

• Rhizobium

• Anabaena

• Azotobacter

• Clostridium etc.

They are further divided into two categories namely symbiotic and non symbiotic bacteria.

These types are usually found in leguminous plants such as pea plant.

By fixing nitrogen, one means that making the atmospheric nitrogen available for the plants by mixing it in soil.
