The story of Robin Hood basically had one theme which it played around, Gaining from the rich & Providing for the poor. The major conflict that Robin had was with the sheriff of Nottingham.

The Sheriff wanted to capture and punish him, whilst Robin being the escapist always had some way of his. Later in the story, Robin eventually kills The Sheriff of Nottingham as he had killed Robin's father. The dilemma of being noble and not killing the sheriff was an internal as well as an external struggle.
