Which Board is better BSEB or CBSE?
Answers
Answer:
Explanation:
Here are some differences
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
In CBSE, the medium of instruction is mostly English. The course material or books provided to students are also written in English.
In Bihar Board, the primary medium of instruction is Hindi, though some private school uses English as a medium of instruction. Text books are available in both Hindi and English medium.
CURRICULUM & SYLLABUS:
In CBSE, the syllabus is focused more on developing the problem solving capability of a child. Practical problem solving skills are emphasised more than bookish knowledge. Once a child is taught something, he is tested on his understanding of the concept. Some of the common subjects include science, social science and Information Technology. English language is taught in great detail and students who wish to sit for competitive examinations or need to migrate to a different country find it easy to blend in.
Bihar State Board follows a more traditional system of education. Number of subjects is limited and emphasis is laid more on, in depth analysis, rather than touching a wide spectrum. English is not the primary language in most of the schools of Bihar board. Students can opt for English as a secondary language. Weak English definitely acts as a hindrance for students wishing to qualify for all India examinations. However, an in depth understanding of each subject gives them a chance to have complete grip over the subject matter.
QUALITY OF TEACHERS:
Most schools under the CBSE board belong to elite private schools or fall under Kendriya Vidyalay. As a parent or student, you can definitely expect accountability and quality from them.
In Bihar Board, teachers are appointed by a state level examination for schools operated by the Bihar state government. The examination is quite standard and it takes considerable knowledge to crack the same. Teachers in Bihar state boards are no doubt well educated and well paid, however being government servants most of them lack enough accountability or dedication.
CLASS X RESULT COMPARISON BETWEEN BIHAR BOARD AND CBSE
Bihar board follows a simple curriculum and the grading system is traditional, where an aggregate of all the subjects is taken and an average of marks is calculated. As per statistics, a total of 14, 09,173 students appeared for the examination in 2015 out of which 7, 61,913 boys and 6, 47,260 girls. 75.17 % students managed to pass, while 24.61% failed. 21.45% got first division, while 25 % secured second division.
CBSE follows a totally different pattern of grading. A letter grade on 9 point scale is used for subjects of external examination. Qualifying mark for each subject is 33%. Assessment of theory and practical papers along with numerical scores are calculated for representing the overall grade. A total number of 13, 28,970 students enrolled for 2015 class 10 examinations out of which 7, 93,940 were boys and 5,35,030 were girls. 97.23 per cent girls have passed the board exams in comparison to 95.42 per cent boys.
At the end of the day, dedication and hard work of the student makes the real difference irrespective of which board he belongs. National Boards definitely give a better exposure than state boards, however it is also important to consider various other practical factors like friends, distance from home, safety and quality of teachers before making any final decision.
