'Akbarnama' ( Ain-i-Akabari) was the book written by Abul Fazl. He is also famous for hiw another work Maktubat-i-Allama.

The book contains the history of forefathers of Akabar as well Akbar himself till 1602. It has three volumes with Ain-i-Akabari being the third volume.

About the author-Abul Fazl He was born on 14th of January, 1551 at Agra. real name was Abul-Fazl ibn Mubarak.
He had risen to the post of Vizir in Akbar's court. He was very favourite of Akbar.

He WAS ordered to be assassinated and died on 12th August 1602.
