Which carbohydrates give negative for tollens reagents?

Tollens reagent test or Silver mirror test is used for identifying the Aldehyde group in a sample so it will give negative test for Carbohydrate and will give positive test for Aldehyde groups.

tollens reagent test is mainly for aldehydes and its gives positive only to aldehyde


it wont give positive for carbohydrates and it is only used to test for the presence of an aldehyde

there will be a formation of a silver mirror in the test tube
