lysosome is known as the housekeeper of cell.

=> they are having digestive enzymes ( such as hydrolase ) in them which help in digestion of food.
=> they also digest the organelles which lose their capability to function properly.
=> they ensure that the organelles are not worn out so they are known as house keeper of cells or scavengers of cells.
=> moreover, they are known as suicidal bags of cells as they digest the whole cell when it gets damaged.
